Edvantage Institute Australia (EIA)

Edvantage Institute Australia (EIA) is a TEQSA registered Australian Higher Education Provider delivering quality Higher Education programs in Melbourne, Australia.

I have been Chair of the Academic Board at EIA since 2019.

Australian Council of Deans of ICT (ACDICT)

The Australian Council of Deans of ICT (ACDICT) has been at the forefront of promoting and advancing ICT education, research and scholarship in Australia’s Higher Education system.

I have been held a number of office bearer positions for ACDICT over the past decade, including Treasurer (2010–2011), Vice-President (2011–2012), President (2012-2014), and Past President (2014-2015).

Computing Research and Education (CORE)

The Computing Research and Education Association of Australasia, CORE Inc., is an association of university departments of computer science in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to 2004 it was known as the Computer Science Association, CSA.

I wsa President from 2001 to 2005 where I led the process of merging the Computer Science Association and the Heads and Professors of Computer Science into a more effective organization. I was an executive member from 2001 to 2009.

Australian Maths Trust

AMT’s vision is to develop a nation of creative problem solvers using maths. A not-for-profit organisation, the Trust is run with the help of an army of passionate volunteers, many who have been serving for more than 40 years.

I have been an AMT board member since 2008, and currently sit on the Business Development Committee. I was previously the Chair of the Australian Informatics Olympiad Committee, from 2008 to 2017.

Australian Computer Society

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is the largest professional body in Australia representing the ICT community.

I previously served on the ACS/Engineering Australia (EA) Joint Board on Software Engineering as a Member between 2001-2005 and 2006-2008, and have served as Chair, 2002, 2004, 2006-2008, 2012 - present.

Association for Logic Programming

The Association for Logic Programming (ALP) was founded in 1986, with the mission to contribute to the development of Logic Programming, relate it to other formal and also to humanistic sciences, and to promote its uses in academia and industry all over the world.

I served on the executive Committee from 1992 to 1996, was a conference coordinator in the 1990s, and served on the IFIP Tech Committee TC-12 on Artificial Intelligence from 1991 to 1998.

Australian Information Industry Association iAwards

The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) is Australia’s peak representative body and advocacy group for those in the digital ecosystem. Since 1978, the AIIA has pursued activities to stimulate and grow the digital ecosystem, to create a favourable business environment for our members and to contribute to Australia’s economic prosperity.

I have been a category judge for student domain comprising school, undergraduate and postgraduate students, from 2014 to present. I’ve also served as a Judges' Council member over the same period.

Club Melbourne Ambassador

Club Melbourne is a prestigious platform for Melbourne's elite to work together in pursuit of a common goal - to contribute to Victoria's ongoing economic growth and reinforce our international reputation for excellence in academic research and business.

I have been an ambassador since 2010, and hosted two breakfast meetings on ‘Impediments to introducing Technology for Aged Care’ and ‘Platforms for Collaboration’. I also helped bring ACL 2017 to Melbourne.

Australian Research Council

The ARC advises the Government on research matters and administers the National Competitive Grants Program (NCGP), a significant component of Australia's investment in research and development.

I was a Member, College of Experts from 2012 to 2014, and Chair of the REC MIC Panel for ERA 2015.

Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER)

ACER’s mission is to create and promote research-based knowledge, products and services that can be used to improve learning across the lifespan. We are a not-for-profit research organisation established in Australia.

I was an invited speaker at the ACER Annual conference, 2016, a member of the STEM Video Games committee from 2014 to 2017, and participated in Principal for a Day between 2015 and 2017.

Pearcey Institute

The Pearcey Institute is an initiative to bring together industry, government, academia and investors to do socio-economic research focused on creating a globally competitive Australian technology sector.

I have been director from 2018 to present and an academic advisor between 2015 and 2017 

Smart Services Cooperative Research Centre

Cooperative Research Centres exist to meet industry challenges and get ideas out of the University laboratory to solve major industry problems. Our research community is multi-discipline covering social sciences, software engineering, business, law, marketing and computer science.

I was a board member from 2013 to 2015.

SeniorPreneurs Foundation

SeniorPreneurs Foundation is a Not For Profit organisation with a vision and sole purpose to empower senior entrepreneurs to succeed.

The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) is one of the largest specialist medical colleges in Australia and New Zealand.
